Research Interests:
The field of  immunology of human cutaneous melanoma. Through  collaborations  with  the melanoma research group in the National Cancer Institute of Milan, and  the University of Pennsylvania Pigmented Lesion Group, under Dr. Martin Mihm’s guidance we are studying  tumor infiltrating lymphocytes and the circulating lymphocytes of patients with metastatic malignant melanoma, as well as the distribution and function of lymphocytes in primary and metastatic tumors. I am also involved in the meta-analysis of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes in human cutaneous melanoma for classification of primary tumors according to the presence or absence, and distribution of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes with the aim of establishing their prognostic significance.
