To advance a mechanism-based clinical pain research program. The Center will promote and sponsor clinical studies leading to peer-reviewed publications and extramural funding.
To conduct clinical trials. The Center will participate in Phase II and Phase III clinical trials of new medications or devices related to clinical pain management.
To integrate basic and clinical pain research. The Center will promote academic activities to bridge the gap between basic science and clinical pain research.
To promote technology transfer. The Center will facilitate technology transfer for ideas generated from basic and clinical pain research as well as for inventions related to clinical pain management.
