Dr. Jupiter received his Medical Degree from Yale University School of Medicine in 1972. He completed a Surgical Internship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 1973 and was a Surgical Resident at the Massachusetts General Hospital from 1975-1976. In 1979 he completed the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program. An AO Trauma Fellowship in Basel, Switzerland followed in 1980 and in from 1980-1981 he completed a Fellowship in Hand and Microvascular Surgery in Louisville, Kentucky.

Dr. Jupiter is the Hansjörg Wyss AO Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Jupiter is a prolific writer and has greatly contributed to the literature in the field. He has authored hundreds of articles, reviews and chapters. In addition, he serves on a number of editorial boards and performs Associate Editor duties for the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, the Journal of Orthopaedic Techniques and the Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery.
