Dr. Zhao is an instructor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Harvard Medical School. She received her medical degree from Shanghai Medical University School of Medicine in Shanghai, China and she completed a Neurology Residency in Beijing. She did a Surgical Internship at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boston. She completed her PM&R residency at SUNY Upstate NY and a Fellowship in Spinal Cord Injury at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Zhao has been working with the Orthopaedic hand and upper extremity service at the Yawkey Center providing PM&R consultations for patients with upper extremity pain or injury.  In addition, she performs EMG studies at the neurology EMG lab at MGH. Her special interests include non-operative management of upper extremity disorders, electrodiagnostic studies, and musculoskeletal medicine.
