Dr. Ana-Maria Vranceanu has completed her graduate training in Clinical Health Psychology at Kent State University, and her internship and post doctoral fellowship in Behavior Medicine and Orthopedics Hand & Upper Extremity Services at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Vranceanu’s research is primarily concerned with the interrelation between psychosocial factors and medical illnesses particularly in acute and chronic hand and arm pain. She is specifically interested in adapting cognitive behavioral interventions for 1) treating acute and chronic hand and arm pain conditions, 2) improving outcomes of surgeries and other medical procedures. Dr. Vranceanu’s clinical interest is in providing cognitive behavioral, acceptance and mindfulness based interventions as part of a multidisciplinary program, to patients with hand and arm pain conditions with or without typically comorbid disorders (depression, anxiety and post traumatic stress).
