While the popular TV show "American Idol" is on hiatus, hospital employees recently had the chance to see and hear their talented colleagues audition for the MGH version of the show, complete with Idol-like comments from three distinguished hospital judges. Maryanne Spicer, director of the Administrative Fellowship Program, Bill Banchiere, administrative director for Environmental Services, and Olako Agburu, administrative fellow, served as judges for the more than 40 MGH singers who auditioned June 3 and 5.
The top seven contestants have been selected to compete during a special performance from noon to 1 pm at the MGH Annual Employee Summer Picnic June 25. The picnic will take place from 11:30 am to 2 pm under the Bulfinch Tent. From the seven finalists, MGHers will vote for their favorite singer to be named the first-ever MGH Idol.
