Staff at the MGH Registration and Referral Center (RRC) in Medford, Mass., celebrated the good old days Aug. 15 at their annual summer barbecue. This year's event revolved around the theme "An Old-fashioned Picnic" and included lawn games, barbecue foods and music by Mix 98.5 FM. The highlight of the event was the dunk tank. Dunk tank volunteers were Paul Nealey, RRC director; Renee Fortin, Operations manager; and Kristin Smith, Training, Quality Assurance and Analytics manager.
The RRC is a centralized service that focuses on proactively handling patient registration. The center's staff speak with patients prior to their visit to the MGH, update patient registration information and obtain necessary managed care referral authorizations, allowing for a medical appointment to be spent on patient care rather than paperwork. The RRC Physician Referral Service (PRS) assists patients with finding an MGH primary care physician or specialist.
For more information about the RRC, call Bob DiPetro, RRC supervisor, at (781) 960-1251.
