The Scientist award celebration
In honor of the MGH's recent designation as the Best Place to Work in Academia by The Scientist magazine, all MGH employees are invited to attend the following celebrations: May 13, from 4 to 5:30 pm in the Simches Research Center, Plaza Café, third floor; and May 21, from 4 to 5:30 pm at CNY, Building 149, middle foyer. Memorial services for John S. Barlow, MD
In honor of John S. Barlow, MD, a former member of the MGH Department of Neurology who died Feb. 15 at 87, the MGH will hold a memorial service May 14, from 1 to 2:30 pm in the MGH Chapel on Ellison 1. Center for Global Health seminar
The MGH Center for Global Health will sponsor "Climate Change and Global Health" May 15, from 5 to 6:30 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. Bianca Jagger, goodwill ambassador for the Council of Europe and chair of both the World Future Council and the Bianca Jagger Human Rights Foundation; and Paul R. Epstein, MD, MPH, associate director of the Center for Health and the Global Environment at Harvard Medical School, will be the guest speakers. Wellman Center lecture
The MGH Wellman Center for Photomedicine will host "Ultraintense Laser-Produced Radiation Sources for Biomedical Applications" May 13, from 2:15 to 3:15 pm. A coffee reception will begin at 2 pm. Bike injury prevention event
MGH Physical Therapy Services will host a bicycle injury prevention event May 13, from 7 to 9 am at the MGH bike cage and 10 am to 2 pm in the Main Corridor. Acromegaly Patient Education Day
The MGH Neuroendocrine Unit will host an Acromegaly Patient Education Day May 30, from 9 am to 4 pm at the Holiday Inn, 5 Blossom St., Boston.
