C.V. Srikanth, PhD

Dr. C.V. Srikanth obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2005 from the Institute for Microbial Technology, Chandigarh, India, where he studied the function of the yeast glutathione transporter. He also characterized the role of glutathione conjugate pumps in resistance to acetaminophen toxicity. He currently works with Dr. McCormick on an investigation of the role of iron transporters in the intra-macrophage survival of Salmonella typhimurium and the involvement of autophagocytosis in cellular resistance to this organism.
