Xinhua Chen, PhD

Dr. Xinhua Chen received his B.S. degree from Beijing University in 1997 and Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Southern California in 2003. He has been working with Dr. Ciarán Kelly as a research fellow in Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and is continuing the projects in Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Chen studies the molecular and cellular mechanisms of therapeutic effects of probiotic agents against bacterial pathogens as well as inflammatory bowel disease. He is also exploring the potential effect of probiotics in cancer prevention and treatment.
