MGH Hospital Medicine Unit

The MGH Hospital Medicine Unit, comprised of the Clinician Educator Service, the Academic Hospitalist Service, and the Hospital Medicine Group, came together in 2010 to launch the next era of hospitalist care at MGH. Our total commitment to medical care and education is the foundation on which the unit is built. Our vision includes:

Continuous improvement in patient care quality and efficiency
Advancing the hospital’s academic mission
Ongoing professional advancement for our faculty and staff

During the past two years, the groups in the unit have collaborated to create 3 new teaching attending roles and a new 30-bed regionalized inpatient service. This dynamic unit is building on these experiences and preparing for the future of inpatient medical practice and education.
