Ernesto González, M.D. In his 29 year tenure at MGH, Dr. Ernesto González, a dermatologist, has amassed a plethora of professional and civic accomplishments. Dr. González was the Chief of Dermatology Ambulatory Care Services from 1977-1987. He is an associate professor at Harvard Medical School and was the first recipient of the Sam Moschella Teaching Scholar Award, and a recipient of the 1998 Health Care for All award. More recently, he was selected to represent Harvard Medical School for the American Association of Medical Colleges Humanitarian Award. As an associate director of MAO, Dr. González serves as a role model and mentor to medical students, trainees and seasoned physicians, and is constantly sought for his knowledge and expertise on Hispanic issues. Dr. González also founded the Hispanic Medical Students Mentorship Program, which in 2006 was combined with the Black Health Organization (BHO) and Medical Students of Las Americas (MESLA) to develop the URM Medical Students Mentorship Program.
