Dr. Cather has specialized in bringing cognitive-behavioral
strategies to individuals suffering from chronic schizophrenia. She has developed
novel programs for helping patients manage intrusive symptoms such as hallucinations
or delusions, as well as strategies to promote healthy behaviors among patients
with psychotic disorders. In addition to her teaching at Harvard Medical School,
Dr Cather has discussed CBT for psychotic disorders on The Infinite Mind NPR
radio program and lectures to Refuah and National Alliance for the Mentally
Ill (NAMI), family support and education groups in the Boston area.
