  • ADA (American Diabetes Association) Basic Diabetes Information Comprehensive site containing general and specialized information on diabetes, nutritional and medical management of diabetes, living with diabetes, information for teachers and some information in Spanish.
  • Children with DIABETES "The online community for kids, families and adults with diabetes". While it is a dense site, it is well organized, easy to use and contains useful information for people of all ages.
  • Diabetes.WebMD.com Although a commercial site with things to sell, it also contains much useful information, including information for the newly diagnosed, risk factors, recipes, prevention and tight management of diabetes.
  • Joslin Diabetes Center's Online Diabetes Information An easy to use site containing general information as well as topics such as monitoring diabetes, insulin, oral medications, nutrition, exercise and complications of diabetes. An interactive course on diabetes, discussion board and ethnic health information round out this comprehensive collection.
  • Learning About Diabetes Easy reading materials on diabetes in English and Spanish
  • NIDDK (National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases) Comprehensive site containing many resources including some written in Spanish and others identified as "Easy to read". Also contains information on how diabetes affects certain ethnic groups and discusses many of the complications of diabetes.

  • Americn Academy of Family Physicians Foot Care for People with Diabetes. An article published in the September 1, 1999 issue of American Family Physician.
