Using PubMed

• PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's search service that provides access to over 11 million citations in MEDLINE, PreMEDLINE, and other related databases, with links to participating online journals.

• It was developed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the National Library of Medicine (NLM) in conjunction with biomedical literature publishers as a tool for accessing literature citations and also for linking to full-text journals on-line at participating publishers’ Web sites.

• Bibliographic information on PubMed comes from MEDLINE, PreMEDLINE and HealthSTAR, as well as Publisher-Supplied citations.

• An excellent PubMed tutorial has been created by Health Librarians at the University of Florida. We suggest choosing "Simple Search" to learn basic PubMed features.
