Claflin Awards Panel Discussion - Reflections and guidance from past Claflin scholars to future awardees

The Office for Women’s Careers and Office for Research Career Development presented a panel discussion to provide information and encouragement to women who are considering applying in the next round of the Claflin Distinguished Scholar Awards.

Panelists:
Sylvie Breton, PhD, one of the first Claflin winners in 1997, current member of the review panel and Associate Professor of Medicine, Renal Unit-Nephrology
Paola Divieti-Pajevic, MD, PhD, 2003 Claflin Winner and Assistant Professor of Medicine, Endocrine Unit
Rochelle P. Walensky, MD, MPH, 2002 Claflin Winner and Associate Professor of Medicine, Department of General Medicine
Wilma M. Wasco, PhD, 2000 Claflin Winner and Associate Professor of Neurology, Neurology Research

Each panelist communicated the importance and impact the award has had for her personally, the application and review process, and the impact it has had in her research career and ability to balance work with family life.
