Faculty Development Seminar: Communication Series

Enhance Your Teaching Skills Surrounding Case Presentations and the Delivery of Feedback
Date: Wednesday, February 6, 2013
Facilitators: Cynthia Cooper, MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine; Alberto Puig, MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine; Theodore Stern, MD, Ned H. Cassem Professor of Psychiatry in the Field of Psychosomatic Medicine/Consultation, HMS, and Director, MGH Office for Clinical Careers
This session enhanced teaching skills by helping to set framework for case presentations and the delivery of more effective feedback. During this interactive seminar, participants gained understanding of the challenges and obstacles faced when shaping a trainee's case presentations and delivering feedback. In addition, participants benchmarked their own style of delivering feedback against patterns discussed in the literature and learned how to improve the quality of feedback provided in their role as a teacher.
