Research Assistant, The Disparities Solutions Center
Maria Rios is a Research Assistant at the Disparities Solutions Center. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Community Health from Tufts University. While at Tufts, she completed a year-long research project for a non-profit based in the Dominican Republic whose mission is to provide quality primary health care to underserved patients by leveraging local community resources and partnering with international medical service trips. She also worked for a human rights NGO preparing research reports for lawyers representing refugees seeking asylum in Spain. Prior to joining the DSC, Maria completed her Americorps residency at a non-profit in Cambridge that helps at-risk high school students start and run their own businesses.
