Services
Additional on-site services include lab, radiology, EKG, and dietary counseling as well as diabetes teaching provided by nurse practitioners.

Referrals
Your primary care physician is responsible for arranging all of your medical care, including referrals to specialists. If you think you need to see a specialist, please call us at (617) 726-8722.

Children & Adolescents
The Pediatric Endocrinology Unit at Mass General Hospital for Children provides care for children and adolescents with diabetes.

Insurance
We accept most major insurance and managed care plans. Please confirm that we accept your plan before your first visit or when you change carriers. If you are required to choose a primary care physician, please make sure to name a MGH Diabetes/Internist doctor.

Lab Results
Your primary care physician will send most laboratory results directly to you. In case of an urgent result, a physician will call you as soon as possible. If you have any questions about your results, please call (617) 726-8722.

Prescriptions
To refill a prescription during center hours, call us at (617) 726-8722. Please have on hand your:

  • unit number and date of birth
  • the name of your medication
  • the dosage
  • the telephone number of the pharmacy you would like to use.
  • Please allow 24 hours for pick-up, unless it is an emergency or weekend.

 
Driving Directions
  • From north of Boston:
    Take I-93 South to Exit 25, Haymarket Square/Government Center. At end of the exit ramp, take a right onto New Chardon Street. At second set of traffic lights, take a right onto Staniford Street. 50 Staniford Street is on the left.
  • From west of Boston:
    Take Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) to exit 18, Cambridge/Allston. Bear right onto the Cambridge exit ramp. At the bottom of the ramp go straight through one set of lights. At the second light, turn right onto Storrow Drive. Follow Storrow Drive to Government Center/Kendall Square/Cambridge Exit. Stay in the right lane. Follow signs to Government Center/Downtown Boston. This is Cambridge Street. At the fifth set of lights turn left onto Stanford Street. 50 Staniford Street is on the left.
  • From South of Boston:
    Follow I-93 North to Exit 25 North Station/Causeway Street. At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn left onto Causeway Street. Follow Causeway Street straight through one set of lights. At the next set of lights, bear slightly left (almost straight) onto Staniford Street. 50 Staniford Street is on the right.
 

Parking

  • A parking garage is available in our building at 50 Staniford Street, and drop-off parking is available at the street level.
  • Additional parking is available at:
    • the MGH main parking garage, 55 Fruit Street. more info
    • the Charles River Plaza, 100 Cambridge Street.
    • the Public Parking Building on Lomasney Way, off Staniford Street
    • the Holiday Inn Garage, Cambridge Street entrance.
 
Public Transportation
  • Red Line, get off at the Charles Street T Stop
  • Blue Line, get off at the Bowdoin T Stop
  • North Station and commuter rail connections are only minutes from our office.
