The Diabetes Unit at Mass General Hospital is one of the largest and oldest clinical and
academic centers dedicated to the treatment and investigation of diabetes and
its complications.
The Diabetes Unit consists of the MGH Diabetes Center (Diabetes Treatment Center and Clinical Research Center) and the Laboratory Research Program to Cure Diabetes.
The unit has a long history of developing and applying effective new treatments of diabetes including:

pancreas and islet transplantation for type 1 diabetes
