Passport & Visas:
Passport holders from most countries are granted a 90-day stay upon entry into Sweden. For country-specific visa information, please check the most updated information from the website of the Government of Sweden.
 
Participants attending the conference who require an entry visa for Sweden are advised to make the necessary arrangements well in advance of their departure. Please ensure that your visa is valid for a sufficient duration. Once you have registered for this event, a letter of invitation from the conference planner (Katarina Drakenberg) may be requested in writing in order to facilitate your visa application.
 
 
Directions from Arlanda Airport to the City Center:
 
Train: The Arlanda Express trains run every 15 minutes between the airport terminals and Stockholm's Central Station. The journey takes 20 minutes and costs SEK 240 for one-way ticket / 460 for return ticket (http://www.arlandaexpress.com/).
 
Taxi: We recommend you to use Taxi 020, Taxi Kurir or Taxi Stockholm as they run fixed prices from the airport to the city. We recommend you to always ask for the price before entering a taxi. The ride to central Stockholm costs SEK ~500 depending on Taxi company.
 
Bus: There is a direct bus connection from Arlanda Airport to the City Terminal next to the Central Station in Stockholm. The journey takes about 40 minutes and costs SEK 99 for one-way ticket/ 198 for return ticket, if you buy the ticket in advance over the net http://www.flygbussarna.se/Default.aspx?lang=EN. The buses leave the airport every 10 minutes.
 
From Arlanda Airport to the Karolinska Institutet (Map of KI):
 
Taxi: We recommend you to use Taxi 020, Taxi Kurir or Taxi Stockholm as they run fixed prices from the airport to the city. Always ask for the price before entering a taxi. The ride to Karolinska Institutet (Berzelius väg 3) costs ~450 SEK depending on Taxi company.
 
Bus / Train: The direct bus connection or the Arlanda Express train from Arlanda Airport to the City Terminal/Central station. From here you can proceed by taxi or bus to Karolinska Institutet.
From the Central station take bus no 47 from the Central Station (leaves from "Vasagatan" at the opposite side of the main entrance) to the final stop which is Berzelius väg 3. No 47 leaves approximately every 10 minutes and the ride lasts 15 minutes. You must buy a ticket before boarding the bus, tickets are for sale in Pressbyrån among other places, one ride costs SEK 20.
 

You can also take a taxi from the City terminal/Central station to Karolinska Institutet, SEK ~140. Please use Taxi 020, Taxi Kurir or Taxi Stockholm and always ask for the price before entering a taxi.

 
From Arlanda Airport to the suggested Hotels:

Taxi: We recommend you to use Taxi 020, Taxi Kurir or Taxi Stockholm as they run fixed prices from the airport to the city. We recommend you to always ask for the price before entering a taxi. The ride to Park Inn, Elite Palace and Hotel Oden costs ~500 SEK depending on Taxi company.

 
Bus: The direct bus connection from Arlanda Airport to the City Terminal has several stops, see information above.  The stop “Na Stationsgatan”  is 50 m/ 55 yards from the hotel Elite Palace. From stop “St Eriksplan” there is a 600 m/0.4 mile walk to hotel Oden, or you can take the metro one station from “St Eriksplan” to “Odenplan”. To get to Park Inn, take the direct bus connection (or the Arlanda Express train) from Arlanda Airport to the City Terminal/Central station. Walk to the metro and take the blue line T11 towards Akalla, get off at station “Solna Centrum” where Park Inn is located.
 
From Hotels to Karolinska Institutet:

From Elite Palace andHotel Oden: Walking distance is approximately 1 km/0.7 miles from Elite Palace and 1.6 km/1 mile from Hotel Oden to Berzeliusväg 3. Alternatively, from Elite Palace Hotel take bus 47 from stop “St Eriksgatan” (0.5 km/0.3 miles from hotel) to the final stop which is Tomteboda/Karolinska Institutet, Berzelius väg 3. From Hotel Oden take bus 47 from stop “Hälsingegatan” (200 m/650 feet from hotel) on Karlbergsvägen to the final stop, which is Tomteboda/Karolinska Institutet, Berzelius väg 3. Note, you must buy a ticket before boarding the bus, tickets are for sale in Pressbyrån among other places, one ride costs SEK 20.

 
From Park Inn: Walking distance is approximately 2.5km/1.6 miles from the Park Inn to Berzeliusväg 3. Alternatively, from Park Inn walk (150 m/450 feet) to bus stop “Solna stadshus” on Solnavägen, take bus 70 (towards Odenplan) to stop Karolinska Institutet. Enter by the main entrance of KI. A few meters ahead is the map of KI campus. You need to cross campus to get to Berzelius väg 3. (If you need to ask, ask for the Berzelius laboratory or the Library). Note, you must buy a ticket before boarding the bus, tickets are for sale in Pressbyrån among other places, one ride costs SEK 20.
