Shaw ImageDr. Stanley Shaw is a Principal Investigator in the MGH Center for Systems Biology, with a joint appointment in the Cardiovascular Research Center.  He is a board-certified cardiologist and attending physician in the MGH Heart Center. Before that, he also served as Chief Resident of the Medical Service at MGH.

He received his A.B. in Chemistry & Physics summa cum laude from Harvard College, and pursued his combined M.D. and Ph.D. studies at Harvard; his Ph.D. in Biophysics studied DNA topology under the supervision of James Wang.  He completed his clinical training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, and worked with Mark Fishman and Stuart Schreiber as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute physician post-doctoral fellow.  He has received research funding from the NIH (NHLBI), Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT, and the de Gunzburg Family Fund at MGH.
