Jesse D. Roberts Jr. earned his BA, MS (Biochemistry), and MD degrees from the University of Rochester. After completing an internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of California, San Diego, Dr. Roberts finished neonatology and research fellowships at Brown University. In 1987 he began residencies in anesthesia and pediatric anesthesia at the Massachusetts General Hospital and The Children's Hospital of Boston, respectively. In 1990 Dr. Roberts served as Chief Resident in Anesthesia at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Afterwards, he joined the medical staff at the MGH and completed NIH-funded post-doctoral research training in pulmonary physiology and molecular and cell biology. He is now an Associate Professor of Anaesthesia (Pediatrics) at Harvard Medical School and an Associate Pediatrician (neonatologist) and Assistant Anesthetist (pediatric anesthesiologist), and a Principal Investigator in the Cardiovascular Research Center at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
