Patrick Ellinor attended medical school and graduate school at Stanford. As a graduate student he worked in the laboratory of Dr. Richard Tsien performing structure and function studies on voltage dependent calcium channels. After medical school, he went to Brigham and Women's Hospital for his medical residency followed by training in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at Massachusetts General Hospital. Patrick Ellinor is an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and an Associate Physician at MGH. He has appointments in the Cardiac Arrhythmia Service, the Cardiovascular Research Center, and the Center for Human Genetic Research at MGH. Since 2003, Patrick Ellinor has been the Director of the Cardiac Step-Down Unit and the Associate Director of the Fellowship Program in Cardiac Electrophysiology at MGH.
