Quantitative Assessment of the Early and Late Effects of Radiation and Chemotherapy on Glioblastoma Using Multiple MRI Techniques
Glioblastomas are devastating brain tumors that are uniformaly fatal. Current standard of care treatment includes surgery followed by 6 weeks of radiation and temozolomide then monthly temozolomide. How this therapy works in humans is unclear. We propose to prospectively study newly diagnosed glioblastoma patients with advanced MRI scans and blood biomarker evaluation before, during, and after treatment. The aim is to better understand the underlying mechanism of treatment in order to optimize therapy.
