Affective and Conative Changes in Alcoholism
Neurobehavioral measures combined with structural and functional brain imaging will provide correlative information on regional brain changes before, during, and after exposure to emotional stimuli. Regions of interest include prefrontal cortex and medial temporal areas, intrinsic to emotional functioning and reward response. fMRI studies will look for changes in the analysis, encoding, and response to affective linguistic stimuli and emotional scenes/faces eliciting emotional reactions.
