Electrical Impedance Tomography and Current Density Imaging in Functional Brain Image Reconstruction
Aims: (1) investigate the effect of cognitive and sensory-motor tasks on the signal produced by electrical impedance tomography (EIT) monitoring of brain function, in a population of normal subjects and chronic major hemispheric stroke patients, (2) to correlate these EIT signal changes with those of conventional anatomic imaging (eg, MRI and CT) and EEG in order to assess the sensitivity of EIT for delineating brain anatomy as a function of electrical impedance. Ultimately we hope to create a portable EIT device.
