Through an extraordinary gift from the Avon Foundation, Massachusetts General Hospital is able to make significant strides in its vision of improving the detection, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of breast cancer and bringing state-of-the-art cancer care to women in underserved communities. The gift provides major support for The Avon Foundation Comprehensive Breast Evaluation Center, which brings the hospital's leading-edge breast cancer screening, diagnostic and research capabilities to one location.

	As part of the Avon-MGH Breast Care Program, the generous donation also supports a high-risk breast evaluation center, new research projects in breast cancer genetics and biology, expands ongoing research and enhances access to clinical care and breast cancer treatment for women in community-based health care centers.

The Avon Foundation is a non-profit organization created in 1955 by Avon Products, Inc., to improve the lives of women and their families. Funds raised by the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade are managed and disbursed by the Foundation to fund access to care and finding a cure for breast cancer.
