Acute Burn Care: The First 24 Hours

"Acute Burn Care: The First 24 Hours" is a three-hour class that covers assessment, fluid resuscitation and specialized care for thermal, chemical, electrical and cold injuries. Referral guidelines and components of transport will also be reviewed. It is open to all practitioners: physicians, nurses, EMTs, and paramedics.

Classes will be offered twice at each of the following locations (the same material being presented at each session):

  • MetroWest Medical Center, July 20, 8AM-11AM or 1PM-4PM
  • Baystate Medical Center, July 22, 8AM-11AM or 1PM-4PM
  • Lowell General Hospital, July 27, 8AM-11AM or 1PM-4PM
  • Jordan Hospital, July 29, 8AM-11AM or 1PM-4P

Massachusetts General Hospital (OH-239/10-01-11) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on accreditation.

Criteria for successful completion include attendance at the entire event and submission of a completed evaluation form.
