  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Reliable health and safety information on a wide range of health topics
  • Healthfinder: Medical journals and other publications, clearinghouses, databases, hotlines, medical research, support groups, organizations, and libraries on a wide variety of health topics.
  • Intellihealth: Harvard Medical School’s Consumer Health Information database.
  • Medline Plus: Medical journal articles, information about drugs, illustrated medical encyclopedia, interactive patient tutorials, and latest health news from the National Library of Medicine.
  • The Merck Manual Home Edition: Based on the world's most widely used textbook of medicine—The Merck Manual—but written in everyday language by 300 contributors.
  • NOAH: New York Online Access to Health: High quality full-text consumer health information in English and Spanish.
  • PubMed: Links to full text articles and other related resources.  Over 16 million citations from MEDLINE and other life science journals for biomedical articles.
  • UpToDate for Patients: Information to learn more about a medical condition, better understand management and treatment options, and have a better dialogue with health care providers.

MASS GENERAL HEALTH RESOURCES

  • Blum Patient and Family Learning Center: located on the first floor of the White building at MGH. Librarians there can help you find out more about health topics of interest. Call (617) 724-7352 or drop in. If you don’t have access to the internet, you are welcome to use computers at the Blum Center to look for medical information
  • Treadwell Library: Health sciences library for the MGH community located on Bartlett Hall Ext. 1 on the MGH Main Campus. Whether using a print resource in a comfortable corner of the library or an electronic resource at your desktop, you will find comprehensive and reliable health information.
  • Women's Health Directory: This site will help you find your way around the services available to women at Mass General. MGH women’s health services reflect the differences in the care and treatment for women at every stage of life.
  • MGH Center for Women's Mental Health: This website provides a range of current information including discussion of new research findings in women’s mental health and how such investigations inform day-to-day clinical practice.  
  • MGH Menopause Library: Depression, hot flashes, sleep disturbance… What are safe treatment options for symptomatic midlife women?
  • MGH Tobacco Treatment Service: The MGH TTS is a multi-disciplinary team of health professionals who specialize in helping smokers become nonsmokers. The MGH TTS offers low-cost, state-of-the-art tobacco treatment services to all MGH patients, employees, and other members of the community.
  • MGH Psychiatry Resources: A list of programs and resources offered by MGH Psychiatry.
