Research Overview

At the Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine, five research areas have both bench and clinical research components. In most research areas, there are independent laboratories. Some of these laboratories have been grouped into major research units led by a senior researcher. These five areas are Critical Care Medicine, Pain and Neurosciences, Biomedical Engineering, Patient Safety and Simulation, Ethics and Health Services Research, and Clinical Trials.
