Department Presents Clinical Research Day Awards
On October 28, 2011, DACCPM presented the 9th Annual MGH Clinical Research Day Awards in Davison lecture hall.
The winners were:
First Prize: Patrick Purdon, PhD, for "Electroencephalographic signatures of induction and emergence from propofol general anesthesia"
Second Prize: Brian Bateman, MD, for "Exome sequencing in severe, early-onset preeclampsia"
First Prize: Lorenzo Berra, MD, for "Transfusion of stored autologous blood alters reactive hyperemia and circulating nitrite levels in healthy volunteers"
Second Prize: Andrea Coppadoro, MD, for "Assessment of arterial compliance for the differentiation of preeclampsia from gestational hypertension in pregnant women"
First prize: Laura Lewis, for "Propofol-induced loss of consciousness is associated with the abrupt onset of slow (<1 Hz) dynamics in human cortical neurons"
Second Prize: Amy West, for "The Effects of Preoperative, Video-Assisted Anesthesia Education in Spanish on Spanish-Speaking Patients' Anxiety, Knowledge and Satisfaction - Pilot Study"
