Department, Services Receive Partners in Excellence Awards

Regional AnesthesiaThe entire Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine will receive a Partners of Excellence (PIE) Award in April.

"I nominated so many people, they felt they could give it to the whole department," department chief Dr. Jeanine Wiener-Kronish said. "They decided the whole department deserved it."

The winners will be honored at the PIE Awards ceremony on April 23.

Two new DACCPM services, the Block Service and the Acute Pain Service, will also receive separate PIE awards.

"[The group members] created new services, they've been incredibly successful and it's taken a lot of hard work and effort by two great teams," Dr. Wiener-Kronish said.

Members of the Acute Pain Service include Drs. Padma Gulur, Brinda Kamdar, Jingping Wang, Cosmin Gauran, Haydar Bishr, and Matthias Eikermann, as well as Lisa Watt, PNP.

Block Service members who were honored include Drs. Neelakantan Sunder, Peter Stefanovich, Katharine Fleischmann, Lisa Warren, Lisa Wollman, Vicki Modest, Laurie Shapiro, Timothy Canty, Jatinder Gill, Brinda Kamdar, Chase Stadtlander, and Margaret Gargarian.

The Block Service nurses include Laura Cameron, Elizabeth Ryder, Laura Betz, Kathy Farrell-Alexander, Janet Dauphinee Quigley, Joanne Ferguson, Sharon Brothers, Beth Elbeg, and Karen Parmenter.

"I think it's a wonderful way to recognize the hard work and dedication of all the individuals involved," Dr. Lisa Warren said.
