Professional Activities
I have been actively involved in clinical research at the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Translational Pain Research. My current research interests are focused on clinical studies to evaluate hyperalgesia in patients with chronic opioid use (opioid-induced hyperalgesia) and possible diagnostic and treatment tools.
Methodologically, Quantitative Sensory Test (QST) is used to evaluate pain threshold and pain tolerance in those subjects with possible opioid-induced hyperalgesia.
My other research interests are alternative medicine, such as acupuncture in clinical pain management.
