Hands-on Clinical Experience
Residents are given a level of supervision appropriate to their ability. This quickly builds technical expertise, good judgment and decision-making skills, allowing residents to become confident in dealing with the most challenging perioperative problems. The caseload allows for a broad clinical experience while nurturing decision-making and leadership skills.
In addition to caring for patients in the operating room, residents learn to manage perioperative problems in the intensive care unit, recovery room, neuroradiology suite, the proton-beam center, MRI suite, endoscopy suite, electrophysiology and the cardiac catherization labs.
