Services for Other Painful Disorders

Many chronic pain conditions may primarily require medication consultations. We provide this consultation service to the patient's primary caregiver, working as a team to optimize care. Common disorders seen in our clinic include:

  • Diabetic neuropathy
  • Acute herpes zoster and post-herpetic neuralgia
  • Peripheral nerve injuries, including complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS, also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy and Causalgia)
  • Myofascial pain
  • Non-rheumatologic joint pain
  • Other musculoskeletal disorders

While we offer cognitive-behavioral therapy and interventional treatment for selected headache disorders, primary referral for evaluation and treatment of headache should be directed to the Mass General Neurology service.
