Neurosurgical

The Neurosurgical Service at Massachusetts General Hospital is considered one of the top-rated neurosurgical programs in the country.  It is a leader in innovative clinical care and basic science research.  A core group of experienced neuroanesthesia staff works closely with the Neurosurgical Service as well as with the Neuromonitoring Department. By working collaboratively, they provide expert care to the approximately 2000 patients per year who undergo diverse neurosurgical procedures. These procedures include brain and spinal cord tumors, intracranial vascular disease, seizure, movement and psychiatric disorders, pituitary disease, complex and simple spine procedures, as well as head trauma and spinal injuries. The clinical expertise and resident education on the neuroanesthesia service is well regarded beyond Mass General.
