TRD-2; A Double-Blind, Placebo Controlled Study of 6(S)-5-MTHF (Deplin®) among SSRI-Resistant Outpatients with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)

Do you take an antidepressant and still feel depressed? Are you looking for a natural alternative to treat your depressive symptoms? Massachusetts General Hospital is conducting a research study testing the safety and effectiveness of a natural supplement that contains folate. It is thought that an increase in folate will help improve your response to your current antidepressant.

The study will consist of 8 visits over the course of 10 weeks and 4 optional follow-up visits over 12 months. If you are between the ages of 18 and 65 and you are currently taking an antidepressant medication, you may be eligible to participate in this research study. Study medication and procedures will be provided at no cost to you. At the end of the study, participants receive an additional 3 months of follow-up care in our clinic at no cost.

If interested please contact Irene Shyu at 617-724-3222 or ishyu@partners.org.

We initiate new studies regularly, so please contact us for additional information.
