Policy Statement:
It is the policy of Partners HealthCare System Inc. (PHS) to hire individuals on the basis of their qualifications and ability to do the job to be filled without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, gender/sex, age, disability, retaliation, sexual orientation or genetic information.
Process:
The background of a new employee will be reviewed during the hiring process. Verification checks must be made as appropriate and may consider an employee's ability to access Electronic Protected Health Information (EPHI).
All job offers will be reviewed by the Human Resource Generalist to ensure compliance with relevant Employment and Labor Laws and consistent policy application.
Conditions of Employment:
A new employee may be required to complete or provide proof of an appropriate health screening, must show proof that s/he is authorized to work in the United States by completing an I-9 Form including showing appropriate documention of authorization to work, and must successfully pass a C.O.R.I. screening and Medicare Exclusion test.
A new employee who has access to EPHI must sign a confidentiality agreement in which s/he agrees not to provide EPHI to unauthorized personnel or to discuss confidential information with them.
Orientation programs will be provided.
