The Schizophrenia Program of the MGH offers a wide range of clinical services and is committed to providing the best possible care to our patients. In addition, we offer a unique international consultation service to patients and their families. Consultations take place at the main campus of the MGH, whereas continuing care is provided two blocks away at the Freedom Trail Clinic of the Erich Lindemann Community Mental Health Center. Consultations are provided regarding medication options and cognitive behavioral approaches for individuals who have not adequately responded to treatment, and for individuals seeking help with smoking cessation or weight loss. Faculty can help identify treatment options and make recommendations as part of their consultation.
Continuing care is provided under the supervision of faculty members at the Freedom Trail Clinic because optimal treatment for individuals with schizophrenia requires a community-based team approach which integrates many services including: case management, outreach, emergency services, day treatment, substance abuse treatment, social clubs, residential programs and vocational services. Treatment may be restricted by insurance coverage or Department of Mental Health guidelines, so not all individuals seen in consultation are eligible to receive treatment from the MGH Schizophrenia Program.
To schedule a consultation or to get more information, please contact Jennifer Cromwell at 617-912-7862 or email us at schizophrenia@partners.org.
