This annual course invites the finest teacher-clinicians from the gastrointestinal divisions of Harvard Medical School's three major teaching hospitals to present insightful reviews of major advances in their fields. Speakers focus primarily on the clinicial setting to translate these advances into effective diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. Participants will learn the latest about current and future therapies for inflammatory bowel disease and chronic viral hepatitis. Interactive sessions with experts in these two disorders will address particularly challenging management decisions in caring for affected patients. Other topics of timely interest include capsule endoscopy, newest radiological imaging techniques, startling frontiers of interventional endoscopy, the genetics of colorectal cancer, the NAFLD epidemic, autoimmune pancreatitis, aftermath problems of gastric bypass surgery and major advances in GI oncology.
